Welcome to WashedUp. By creating an account or using our platform (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use WashedUp.
Zero Tolerance
WashedUp has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We do not permit harassment, hate speech, discrimination, spam, explicit content, or any conduct that violates our Community Guidelines. Users who post such content or engage in abusive behavior will have their content removed and their accounts suspended or permanently banned. We review all reports within 24 hours and take action accordingly.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use WashedUp. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We reserve the right to terminate accounts of users who misrepresent their age.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@washedup.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you post on WashedUp (plans, messages, photos, profile information). By posting content, you grant WashedUp a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the Service.
You agree not to post content that:
- Is harassing, threatening, bullying, or abusive toward other users
- Contains hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene
- Promotes or facilitates illegal activity, including drug use or violence
- Is spam, scams, solicitation, or commercial advertising not authorized by WashedUp
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Impersonates another person or entity

4. Content Moderation
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, and to suspend or permanently ban any user account for violations. We are not obligated to monitor all content but may do so at our discretion. If you believe content violates our policies, report it to hello@washedup.app.
5. Events and Real-World Meetups
WashedUp facilitates connections between users who want to attend events and activities together. Important disclaimers:
- WashedUp does not organize, host, or supervise any events. Users create and attend plans at their own discretion.
- You are solely responsible for your own safety and behavior at any event or meetup arranged through WashedUp.
- WashedUp does not verify the identity, background, or intentions of any user. Exercise the same caution you would when meeting anyone new.
- We encourage meeting in public places, telling someone where you’re going, and trusting your instincts.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- WashedUp is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
- We are not liable for any interactions, disputes, injuries, or damages that occur between users, whether online or at in-person events.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WashedUp, its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your conduct at any event.
8. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app or by visiting our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or for any reason at our sole discretion.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the app. Continued use of WashedUp after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
