WashedUp (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the WashedUp mobile application and website at washedup.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account and use WashedUp, we collect the following personal information:
- Account information: Email address, display name, and password
- Profile information: Birthday, bio, profile photos, and social media links you choose to share
- Location data: General location (city-level) used to show relevant plans and events near you
- User-generated content: Plans you create, messages you send in group chats, and event participation history
- Photos: Profile pictures and any images you upload to plans or your profile
- Usage data: How you interact with the app, including pages viewed, features used, and session duration
2. How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform, on servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the WashedUp platform
- Match you with relevant plans and events in your area
- Enable group messaging between plan members
- Send important account and service notifications
- Improve and optimize the app experience
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate WashedUp. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data:
- Supabase — Database hosting and authentication
- Vercel — Web application hosting
- Apple / Google — App distribution and in-app purchases (if applicable)
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 48 hours. Some data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes, and certain data may be retained as required by law.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your account and all associated personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time

WashedUp is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete that information immediately.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what data we collect, the right to delete your data, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use of WashedUp after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
